Carmel City Court is designated as court 29H01 and has been live on the Odyssey system since November 23, 2009. The city court handles local ordinance violations and some traffic cases. For civil lawsuits, criminal cases, family law, and probate, residents of Carmel use the Hamilton County courts in Noblesville. All records from both the city court and the county courts are available through the clerk.

Hamilton County is part of Judicial District 12 along with Boone, Clinton, and Tipton counties. But Carmel court records are kept only in the Hamilton County system.
